New! Comox Hop on, Hop off Trolley Tour

Step aboard our charming hop-on-hop-off trolley tour and discover the stunning oceanside beauty of Comox.
A shiny, eye-catching arrival brings both an immersive new activity and a fun, relaxing way to get around Comox this summer. The Comox Valley’s new Hop-on-Hop-off adventure takes place aboard a charming heritage-style trolley. Take the pressure off driving, or wondering where to go, and make use of each stop along the trolley’s route to guide your day of exploration. The core circular route operates six times a day, featuring seven stops. Twice a day, a handful of other special stops are added to the route, extending it out toward the delights of Comox’s aviation history, beaches, and even a winery.

From Bustling Coffee Shops to Serene Sea-to-Sky Views
Start your day along the hub of Comox Avenue. Grab coffee and a breakfast bite from favourites like Tidal Cafe, The Mill, or Impresso Coffee. Hop on the trolley at the corner of Comox Avenue and Port Augusta or 1723 Comox Avenue and let it take you along the tree-lined street to your first “hop off” at the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park.

The nine-acre Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park hums with warm-weather activity. Blooms colour the pathways, the special collection of trees is flushed out with fresh leaves, and the Filberg Summer Kitchen and Hands-on Farm are open. Duck into the heritage lodge where you’ll find antique goodies for sale and some intriguing decor, admire the views across the water, and if you time it right, enjoy the sounds of the Filberg Festival.

Nature lovers will also want to get off at the next stop to wander into the quiet corners of Brooklyn Creek and Macdonald Woods. If you’d prefer to use your steps to visit Goose Spit with its 360-degree perspective of mountains, ocean, and the Comox Valley, and its sheltered lagoon vibrant with waterfowl, use the same stop; Goose Spit is about a 20-minute walk away.
Add Historic Aircraft, Beach Walks, and a Local Wine Tasting

Time your hop-on, hop-off experience right and you can add your pick of Point Holmes, Comox Air Park, Comox Air Force Museum, and 40 Knots Winery to the day’s itinerary. There’s something for all ages and the whole family. Point Holmes is a great spot to walk, look for wildlife, explore the beach and its rockpools at low tide, take a dip, and even launch a paddleboard.

Will you go on to marvel at the historic aircraft in the Heritage Air Park and dive deep into the dynamic stories of Comox’s military air force… or is a leisurely afternoon soaking in the patio atmosphere and a taste of the local terroir at 40 Knots Winery more your thing?
Refuel and Play a Round of Pickleball
Once you’re back onboard, whether you’ve come straight from the Brooklyn Creek/Macdonald Woods stop or enjoyed some of the extra locations, the next core stop places you right beside Land & Sea Brewing Co. Get off at the Anderton & Guthrie Commerical Hub to grab lunch or an afternoon aprés, along with some memorable merchandise, in this popular light-filled spot.
If your ideal vacation equals more time on your favourite activities, the next stop is the Comox Recreation Centre. Grab a drop-in pass and work up a sweat in the fitness centre, join a class, cool off with a swim, or play a round or two of racquet sports.
End Your Day at the Marina

The final stop of your exciting Comox Valley Hop-On-Hop-Off Heritage Trolley Tour takes you to the Comox Marina, a classic way to end a day in Comox. Here you can grab a meal from the food trucks that set up around Marina Park’s edges, have kids cool off in the Comox Rotary Splash Park, and spread out on the grass. You might even catch a spot of “Music in the Park”, which features a rotation of local musicians. Walk along the Fisherman’s Wharf Boardwalk, keeping an eye out for wildlife like whales, seals, and eagles, to enjoy the vista of the valley lit up by the warm glow of a summer sunset.

This final stop is also just a short walk back to Comox Avenue if you finish earlier in the day on the shorter loop. Pick up Valley-inspired gifts from independent stores like ROAM Media, Wildflower Mercantile, and Shoppe Kindred, or a book on the area from Blue Heron Books or Castaway Books. If you’re more of a restaurant goer than a food truck lover, Gigi’s Oysters, Boonie’s Pizza, Church St Taphouse, Off the Hook, Martine’s Bistro, and the Blackfin Pub can be found within a few blocks’ radius. Finish your summer day with gelato at Benino Italian Café & Gelato.
Tickets for the Comox Hop-on-Hop-off Trolley Tour start at $8 per child and $20 per adult, with senior tickets and family packs also available. Infants go free. Plan your route and activities for each stop, or see how you feel as you trundle along on the Great Canadian Trolley!
