A 3-day Food and Music Festival for people of all ages at Cumberland Village Park.
| The much-anticipated Comox Valley RibFest 2025 returns to Village Park in Cumberland August 22-24. When & Where? Friday, August 22: 11am - 9pm Saturday, August 23: 11am - 9pm Sunday, August 24: 11am - 7pm Location - Village Park, Cumberland Organized by Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club in partnership with the Rotary Club of Comox Valley and sponsored by Peninsula Co-op. Entry is by donation with proceeds going towards local and international projects. What Makes RibFest Special? • 5 amazing All Canadian Professional Ribbers competing for top honors • 7 local food truck vendors offering delicious alternatives • 17 live local music acts across 3 days • Kids Zone with bouncy castles and activities • Artisan Alley featuring 14 local creators • Local breweries, winery & cidery • Eco-friendly focus - recognized as the "Greenest Festival in the Valley" The expanded Kids Zone features three free bouncy castles free of charge and a separate food truck in the Kids Zone serving special ‘kid’s meals! The Saloon highlights three local breweries, Cumberland Brewery, Land & Sea Brewery, and Ace Brewery as well as 40 Knots Winery, and Merridale Cidery. The Media Sauce Challenge happens at 1pm on Friday, where local media present their secret BBQ sauce recipes to be judged by five rib teams. Winners receive bragging rights and the coveted Media Sauce trophy. The All-Canadian Rib Teams returning this year are Boss Hog, Smoke ‘dem Bones, Prairie Smoke & Spice, Grizzly BBQ and Gator BBQ. Sunday's main event features the Ribbers Competition at 3pm, where local dignitaries judge the professional teams for Best Ribs, Greenest Ribber, and Best Ribber Sauce. The People's Choice award is decided by festival visitors using special voting tokens distributed at the gate…….. so don’t forget to vote! Recognized as the Valley's "Greenest Festival" by the Comox Valley Regional District, RibFest diverted two tonnes of waste from landfill in 2024.
