They’ll share information about the Garry oaks in Vanier Nature Park and the work going on to ensure their survival. They’ll offer ways in which we can protect, enhance and restore Garry oaks through our own gardening and at the community level.
Karen Cummins has led and developed woodland, meadow and watershed stewardship projects in the Comox Valley. She brings her skills in arboriculture and sustainable horticulture as well as a keen interest in local ecology to the Vanier Garry oaks project.
Eloise Holland has worked on a variety of habitat restoration projects, including the Champlain Woods Bur oaks and Churchill School outdoor classroom in Ottawa.
As the festive season approaches, this will be the last Zoom meeting for 2025 but we’ll be back in the New Year with more exciting speakers. Don’t forget that CVHS membership makes a great stocking stuffer for your friends and family!
