Simms Summer Concerts continue Sunday, July 12, with Joel Lee performing country originals and classic rock favourites at Simms Millennium Park.
Joel Lee commands attention on stage, whether delivering high-energy renditions of rock classics like "Sweet Emotion" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" or performing his own country originals backed by a tight, road-tested five-piece band.
Building on the success of his Top 30 single "This Party Ain't Over" and 2025 hit "Hometown Horizon," Joel continues to build momentum with two new singles, "Someday" and "I Can't Blame Her." Supported by a Creative BC and Province of British Columbia recording grant, both songs were co-written with Courtenay award-winning songwriter Doug Folkins.
With new music and a growing fan base, Joel Lee is an artist to watch.
With Simms Millennium Park reopening ahead of schedule following the early completion of the 6th Street Bridge, Simms Summer Concerts have returned to their original location after an initial plan to hold the full season at Lewis Park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music by the Courtenay River until approximately 8:30 p.m.
New this year! One or more food trucks will be set up at 6 p.m. before concerts. The Weenie Wagon will be serving up food for every concert and Phat Parrot will be on site July 5 and 12. So come by early to grab your spot and have some dinner by the river.
Upcoming Simms Summer Concerts performances include The Sharp Seven on July 19, Shotgun Kelly on July 26, Blues Jam on August 9, Stealing Dan on August 16 and Time Well Wasted on August 23.
