Perfect timing… After settling back into Island life with moving to Comox Valley, the Landolt family finally had the opportunity to make their dreams a reality, open a Microbrewery, snap, Ace Brewing Company. Accessibility Information
Ace Brewing Company is a relatively new arrival on the Courtenay brewpub scene that offers tasty food and great beer in a friendly atmosphere that is wheelchair accessible. The pub, which is entirely step-free, is counter-service style, and there are moveable tables and chairs throughout that accommodate wheelchairs and scooters. The covered outdoor patio (my choice), is heated and has a small ramp to access it from inside the pub. The brewery gets its name, Ace Brewing Company, from the Ace Fighter Pilots in WW1 and WW11 fighting for the Military community of CFB Comox.
The brewery has already won awards for their own Jet Fuel IPA, so trying some just makes sense. If you prefer, having a beer flight and trying a few different options is a great idea, too. Get yourself and your party an order of the beef nachos because they’re made with brisket and are super tasty. The pretzel and beer cheese is an excellent choice as well! We tried a number of items; the menu isn’t huge, but we enjoyed all of it.
Ace Brewing Company appears to be a local favourite, and we could all see why. Staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed with a cool theme, parking is located right next to the pub, and the washroom was wheelchair accessible.
