Wayward Distillery produces premium, honey focused spirits using 100% BC honey and BC grain. Fan favourites include Unruly Gin, Krupnik and Drunken Hive Rum with new and interesting spirits always on the horizon. Honey is not only delightful to work with, but it also allows us to support our bees! We donate 1% of our liquor sales to Pollinator Partnership Canada which ensures we keep our agricultural lands, forests, and ecosystems healthy and robust. The distillery, located at 2931 Moray Avenue, is also where you’ll find the tasting bar and the retail store, which is not an overly huge space. For a person in a wheelchair or scooter, along with the room being somewhat snug, the tasting counter is a little high but certainly not impossible. The fellow who was leading our tasting experience was incredibly knowledgeable as he takes guests through the complimentary product sampling. Folks who are interested in touring the distillery can do that too.
There is parking on the slanted driveway but includes a designated accessible flat spot near the door and a large accessible bathroom on site, but the sink doesn’t have space underneath it for wheelchair clearance. Don’t let this dissuade you.
