Plan Your Trip to the Comox Valley

The Comox Valley is a place that inspires creativity, tempts the taste buds, soothes the soul and fires the imagination of adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. Situated halfway up the east coast of Vancouver Island, this community of 65,000 faces the sea and embraces the mountains, has the charm of a small town but with a touch of urban sophistication and taste. The Comox Valley is comprised of three main communities, each one diverse and unique: the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, as well as Denman and Hornby Islands, and the surrounding rural farm areas.

Being a magnet for young families, entrepreneurs and investors, the Comox Valley has had dynamic regional growth over recent years. Its central Island location is both visitor and business friendly, and is easily accessible via the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ), Harbour Air, Air Canada, WestJet, Pacific Coastal Airlines and BC Ferries. The new (2017) Comox Valley Regional Hospital is providing additional job opportunities in health care. Additionally, the Valley is home to both North Island College and Canadian Forces Base 19 Wing Comox, the region’s largest employer.

Ultimately the incredible quality of life is the area’s biggest draw. Here you will find big city amenities, yet the area proudly maintains and protects its smaller, rural community features and environment.

Our Communities

The Comox Valley is the traditional territory of the Puntledge, E’iksan and K’ómoks peoples. Today the three tribes are known as the K’ómoks First Nation. Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland are the three main communities that make up the Valley, stretching from mountains to sea.
